Eagle Beat 8/4/15 Edition

As summer continues to dwindle away and temperatures continue to rise, all students are feeling the onset of the fictitious freshmanitis, sophomoritis, junioritis, and the oh-so-real senioritis. I don’t know about my classmates, but I, for one, am not ready for summer to be over!
This last month of summer is the perfect time for students in National Honor Society to get volunteer hours for the coming school year. Students can work at the Funtastic Family Fun Fair or sell raffle tickets during Deckerville Homecoming. Both opportunities take place Friday, August 7th.
For all fall athletes, sports practices start soon. Varsity volleyball and cross country practices start Wednesday, August 12th. Varsity football practice starts Monday, August 10th. Good luck to all teams as you start practice, because we all know the first week is usually conditioning.
Just a reminder to everyone that Deckerville Homecoming is August 7th, 8th, and 9th. There will be a 5k Walk/Run, tractor pulls, and a mud volleyball tournament; enough going on for everyone to find something to do!
