It certainly was a beautiful Independence Day Weekend, with daytime weather in the 70’s & 80’s and fair winds.
I was able to spend quite a bit of time on Lake Huron, due in part to a super Saturday fishing trip, compliments of our Yale Expositor cousins Barbie & Tim Stasik.
Tim is a seasoned fisherman and it was very interesting and educational to observe a master at work.
The water was flat and smooth as glass all morning long and at the end of the morning, we were able to land a pair of nice sized lake trout. For the record, Tim’s laker was much bigger than mine.
We joined Barb and Tim at the Port Sanilac Marina docks on Friday night and shared a few plates of perch trio takeout from the Stone Lodge, before heading out to the Lexington Fireworks.
I’m really not sure if last week could have been any better. Starting with a private plane flying trip to the Lions Past Presidents meeting in Mt. Pleasant with Arlen Hacker last Monday, to the revelry of visiting family and friends throughout the weekend.

I’m pleased to report that daughter Chelsea along with husband Paul and son Nolan have safely moved to Monmouth, Maine. The move from Biddeford, ME was necessary as Chelsea continues the pursuit of her medical degree and begins hospital rotations in the Augusta area.
