Putting the Brakes on Prostate Cancer

Sandusky, MI – McKenzie Health System, the P.C.U.P.S. (Prostate Cancer Understanding Prevention Screening) Foundation and Tubbs Brothers are teaming up to promote prostate cancer awareness in our community. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men in the United States (just behind skin cancer).
Tom Albrecht, CEO and Founder of P.C.U.P.S. Foundation, has arranged to have the Central Michigan University (CMU) Mobile Health Clinic roll into Tubbs Brothers Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Sandusky on Thursday November 5, 2015. The almost 39-foot motor home was specially outfitted by CMU to serve rural Michigan residents by providing a means for healthcare access and prevention education.
From 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. men can take advantage of Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) tests as well as Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Screenings. The screenings are free thanks to funding by the P.C.U.P.S. Foundation and will be conducted by McKenzie Health System staff.
PSA tests are a non-invasive way of screening for prostate cancer through the use of a blood test. High levels of PSA may indicate the presence of prostate cancer. Since its founding in 2012, the P.C.U.P.S. Foundation has paid for over 1,000 PSA tests for Michigan men.

We are thrilled to partner with P.C.U.P.S. Foundation and Tubbs Brothers to provide an opportunity for men to easily get tested with no out of pocket expense.”
The Tubbs Brothers auto dealership is located at 959 Sanilac Road in Sandusky. The screenings will be conducted between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be offered.
