Once again, Sandusky’s band camp is in our mist! This coming week, July 27th through July 31st, offers endless opportunities for improvement and creativity, while these students begin to form the half-time show for this fall. The music selection along with the excellent devotion of each musician is sure to create another wonderful show for the approaching first home football game, August 28th against USA.
Music chosen for these events has already been distributed so as students will start preparations before band camp. The upcoming performance will include pieces that have all been in the “Top 100” recently such as, “Sing”, “Shake it Off”, “Bang Bang” and “Love Runs Out”. Of course, there will be time to rehearse these as an ensemble; but the majority of our time will be attributed to learning the corresponding marching drill. Furthermore, every participant should be ready to spend most of their time outside and bring according attire. For instance, appropriate footwear, plenty of sunscreen, water bottles, and a personal marker will be necessary to contribute our best.
Band camp can easily seem overwhelming with such specific needs, but each part will certainly fall into place with complete effort from everyone. The success of our marching shows depends solely on the effective use of this rehearsal time. Hence, that makes it crucial each person is fired up and ready to make an even better performance!
