Thumb Area Legion Drop Two on Road

The Thumb Area Legion traveled to the Plymouth Cultural Center and Ice Arena to take on Plymouth last Thursday night. Plymouth scored the first goal of the contest and held a 1-0 lead into the second period. The Legion netted four goals in the second but Plymouth scored three of their own to tie things up 4-4 after two. The Legion netted a fifth goal in the final period but gave up two goals to Plymouth and Plymouth held on to win it, 6-5. Caleb Lentner led the scoring charge for the Legion with two gaols and an assist. Wyatt Ryan netted two goals of his own in the loss. Chase Talaski scored the other goal for the Legion and assisted on two other shots. Lauren Eager, Tyler Lamm, and Colton Hooper each had an assist in the contest. Lauren Eager also tended goal, saving 44 of 50 shots on goal, good enough for a save percentage of 88%.
The Thumb Area Legion traveled to the Mike Modano Ice Arena in Westland to take on New Boston United last Saturday. The Legion drew first blood, running the score up to 3-1 in the first period. New Boston United answered back in the second period, scoring four goals and shutting out the Legion for the remainder of the game. The Legion took the loss 5-3. The Legion were without Caleb Lentner for the contest. Chase Talaski was the leading scorer for the Legion with two goals and an assist. Tyler Lamm scored the Legion’s other goal. Marshall Ryan assisted on two goals. Gabe Vanderlip assisted on one goal in the loss. Seth Hiles tended goal for the Legion, saving 22 of 27 shots on goal, good enough for a save percentage of 81.5%. The Legion continue their six game road trip with game number four in Saginaw on Wednesday. The Legion will finally return home for a three game stint starting on Tuesday February 7th when they face off with Marysville at the Colleen J Howe Arena in Sandusky for a makeup game. The Legion are also set to take on Lakeshore and Bay Area Thunder at home on Friday and Saturday of next week.
