New Ownership at Kreiner’s Corner

For 34 years at the corner of Deckerville Road and M-25, Jim and Lori Kreiner have owned and operated “Kreiner’s Korner”. Wanting to retire, they put the business up for sale, and now Mark Japar and his wife, Shuang have taken it over (offically last Friday).
Jim and Lori were “just ready” to sell the business, and are looking forward to spending more time with their kids and grandkids, and also doing some traveling. They are not moving, Jim still owns the garage that is just to the north of the store. The couple would like to thank everyone for all of the support the community has given them through the years, saying how much they enjoyed owning the business. The two employees that worked for Jim and Lori are still going to be employed at the store.
Mark and Shuang, formerly from the Troy area, and most recently from Grand Rapids, have been coming up the Thumb of Michigan for over 30 years, as Mark’s family owns a cottage just north of Kreiner’s Korner.
The couple are hoping to follow in Kreiner’s steps for awhile, also hoping to bring fresh baked pizzas back to the store.
Mark and Shuang, are expecting a baby girl in May. The couple also have a dog. They are currently renting a place, and are hoping to buy. When they saw that Kreiner’s was for sale, they felt that it was the perfect opportunity for them to get away from the city. They are looking forward to being a part of the community, and a part of the peoples’ lives here and showing their support to the area.
We would like to wish them the best of luck, congratulations!
