C-PS Robotics Wins Big with Sanilac Women Who Care

More than a hundred women gathered together to put their collective wallets to a great use recently at the Sanilac Women Who Care Benefit Dinner.
Each woman purchases a $100 ticket at the door to be a part of the event.
They receive a voting token and a nametag number. They use the first bit of the event to network and meet people in the room. Three nametag numbers are randomly selected and those people can either choose to take a “chair” and share information about their nonprofit or nominate someone else for their “chair”.
The three nonprofits/projects that received a chair this year were:
Sanilac Historical Museum – they presented about their Ward Cottage project, which would allow them to renovate the Ward cottage on-site and rent it out as a sustainable source of income over the years for the Museum.
The CPS Robotic Team – They needed start-up funds for their newly formed robotics club. Both Macy Milarch and Isabella Smith-Corso made a fantastic pitch that outlined their need for a trailer, tools, supplies, and competition expenses. They expressed that starting this program represented bringing STEM opportunities to their small school district. Giving themselves and students after them a chance to experience STEM firsthand, hands-on, and in a meaningful way.
The Goodtimers – this is actually a men’s group out of Deckerville that looks for a need and fills it. All funds they raise go toward helping individuals who are struggling in our community as well as special projects in the area.
This was the 9th year of the event. Since its inception, the they have invested $85,000.00 into Sanilac County!
