Students Learn about New Foods with Recipe Exchange

Students in the Secondary Transition Program at Sanilac Intermediate School District have been participating in a Recipe Exchange with different classrooms throughout the country. The students open one recipe per day, mark it on a map, and read a short introduction about the classroom that sent the recipe. STP students then get to vote on which recipes our classroom will make for our weekly classroom lunch. This week students made Crescent Hot Dog Pockets from William Tennent Highschool in Warminster, PA; Potato Casserole from Newington Transition Academy in Newington, CT; and Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies from Watertown High School in Watertown, SD. The students then have the opportunity to review each recipe and decide if it is something they would like to make again.
