Regular Meeting Minutes
June 27, 2022

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Board President, Brandon Stolicker.
Members present: Jon Block, Brandon Stolicker, Amy Dumaw, Jason McConnachie, Spencer Osborne, Randee Kirkpatrick.
Member absent: Curt Vogel
Administrators present: Michael Hugan, Matthew Connelly
Administrator absent: Josh Stern
Motion by Jon Block, support by Jason McConnachie to adopt the agenda for the June 27, 2022 regular meeting. Carried.
Motion by Jon Block, support by Amy Dumaw to approve the regular meeting minutes of May 23, 2022. Carried.
Motion by Jason McConnachie, support by Spencer Osborne to approve the General Fund bills in the amount of $200,008.71. Carried.
Motion by Jason McConnachie, support by Amy Dumaw to approve the Athletic Fund bills in the amount of $1,170.13. Carried.
Motion by Spencer Osborne, support by Amy Dumaw to approve the Food Service Fund bills in the amount of $32,534.13. Carried.
Motion by Jason McConnachie, support by Spencer Osborne to approve the Student/School Activity Fund bills in the amount of $1,173.80. Carried.
Motion by Spencer Osborne, support by Amy Dumaw to approve the Capital Projects Fund bills in the amount of $25,068.87. Carried.
Marsha Taylor, Business Manager, presented the proposed budgets for 2022-2023.
The board heard administrative reports from Matthew Connelly, Elementary Principal, and Michael Hugan, Superintendent.
Marsha Taylor, Business Manager, presented the final budgets for 2021-2022.
Motion by Jon Block, support by Spencer Osborne to approve the revised final budgets for the 2021-22 school year as presented by Marsha Taylor, Business Manager. Revenues in the amount of $7,138,070 and Expenses of $7,183,388 with $45,318 being deducted from the fund equity. As of June 30, 2022 estimated fund equity will be $2,480,894. Carried.
Motion by Amy Dumaw, support by Jason McConnachie to approve the 2022-2023 proposed budgets as presented by Marsha Taylor, Business Manager. Revenues in the amount of $8,649,550 and Expenses of $8,420,080 with $229,470 being added to the fund equity. As of June 30, 2023 estimated fund equity is $2,710,364. Carried.
Motion by Spencer Osborne, support by Jason McConnachie to accept, with regret, the resignation of Will Stolicker, JV Football Coach. Carried.
Motion by Jon Block, support by Spencer Osborne to accept, with regret, the retirement of Chris Smigill, Bus Mechanic. Carried.
Motion by Jason McConnachie, support by Amy Dumaw to accept, with regret, the resignation of Kayla Prill, High School Special Education Teacher, effective June 24, 2022. Carried.
Motion by Amy Dumaw, support by Jon Block to accept, with regret, the resignation of Wyatt Watson, Custodian, effective June 3, 2022. Carried.
Motion by Jason McConnachie, support by Jon Block to approve the hiring of Mitzi Muma for the Custodian position. Carried.
Motion by Amy Dumaw, support by Spencer Osborne to approve the hiring of Aaron Sutherland for the 4th grade teaching position. Carried.
Motion by Jason McConnachie, support by Jon Block to approve the hiring of Alicia Fetting for the 1st grade teaching position. Carried.
Motion by Jon Block, support by Jason McConnachie to approve the hiring of Seth McVittie for the 5th/6th grade science teaching position. Carried.
Motion by Jason McConnachie, support by Amy Dumaw to award the bid to Jaws Mobile for locker removal. Carried. Spencer Osborne abstained from voting.
Motion by Jon Block, support by Amy Dumaw to set the debt retirement millage at .98 and the operating millage at 18. Carried.
Motion by Jon Block, support by Randee Kirkpatrick to approve the extension of Mr. Hugan’s, Superintendent, contract for another school year. Carried.
Motion by Spencer Osborne, support by Jon Block to approve the overnight 8th grade Mackinac Island field trip for September 28th – 29th, 2022. Carried.
Motion by Amy Dumaw, support by Jason McConnachie to adjourn at 8:51 p.m. Carried.
