March 11, 2024 – 7:00 p.m.

Village council met in regular session on March 11th, 2024, in the village chambers. President Don Murdock called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Cesefske led with the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
TRUSTEES PRESENT: Kubik, Ridley, West, Dore, Noble, Cesefske
ADMINISTRATION PRESENT: Police Chief Fred Ameel, Village Supervisor/Fire Chief Tracy Hoff, Treasurer Debbie Salowitz
CITIZENS PRESENT: Sharon Varosi, Sally West, William Eden, Dominic Lewis, Cheryl Heiber, Michelle Wadsworth, Bob & Marilyn Armstrong
Roll Call taken, all were present.
Motion by Kubik, seconded by Cesefske to approve the agenda with addition of Cheryl Heiber.

Trustee Kubik.

Motion by Kubik, seconded by Cesefske to reappoint Andy Watts and Karen Bennett for a 3 year term. William Eden was appointed to the vacant spot ending 2027. Dominic Lewis was appointed to the vacant spot ending 2026. Both to be appointed for 3 years. Brian Kartanys was appointed as the at large public member of the board of appeals. Noble abstained from voting. Motion Carried

Special Meeting on March 5, 2024 in the high school library at 6:00 p.m.
Members present: Curt Vogel, Jason McConnachie, Brandon Stolicker,
Kendra Messing, Danielle Walsh, Richard Hamill, Randee Kirkpatrick.
Administrator Present: Matthew Connelly
Motion by Richard Hamill, support by Curt Vogel to adopt the March 5,
2024 Special Meeting Agenda. Carried.
MASB’s Penny Kentish McWilliams conducted a Superintendent
Evaluation Training Workshop.

The Deckerville Community Schools Board of Education met in regular session on
February 26, 2024 in the high school library.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Brandon Stolicker.
Members present: Danielle Walsh, Jason McConnachie, Brandon Stolicker, Randee
Kirkpatrick, Curt Vogel, Richard Hamill, Kendra Messing
Administrators present: Matthew Connelly, Josh Stern, Aaron Sutherland
Motion by Jason McConnache, support by Curt Vogel to adopt the amended agenda
removing action item # 2 – NEOLA Updates for the February 26, 2024 Regular Meeting.
Carried.
Motion by Curt Vogel, support by Jason McConnachie to approve the regular meeting
minutes of January 22, 2024. Carried.
Motion by Danielle Walsh, support by Richard Hamill to approve the Special Board
meeting minutes of February 8, 2024. Carried.
Motion by Curt Vogel, support by Jason McConnachie to approve the General Fund bills
in the amount of $124,876.13. Carried.
Motion by Curt Vogel, support by Richard Hamill to approve the Athletic Fund bills in the
amount of $334.42. Carried.
Motion by Curt Vogel, support by Danielle Walsh to approve the Student/School Activity
Fund bills in the amount of $10,172.13. Carried.
Motion by Jason McConnachie, support by Richard Hamill to approve the Food Service
Fund bills in the amount of $11,867.12. Carried.
The Board reviewed the prompt pay bills for January 2024.
The Board heard administrative reports from Aaron Sutherland, Elementary Principal,
and Joshua Stern, High School Principal..

sports coaches as presented by Monica Spranger, Athletic Director:

“Friend of Youth” to be honored at the Thumb Meet of Champions in Caro on May 28,

    not mandatory but will follow MDHHS guidelines for face coverings, the Continuity of
    Services Plan for 2023. Carried.

    bus from Holland Bus Company in the amount of $131,033. Carried.
