Car Accident Takes Life of Lexington Man
On Friday, September 30th, 2022, at approximately 11:39 P.M., Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a single vehicle personal injury crash on S. Lakeshore Road near Galbraith Line Road in Worth Twp. Deputies along with the Lexington Fire Department,
Burtchville Township Fire Department, and Croswell EMS were dispatched to the scene.
Deputies’ investigation determined that a 2008 Lincoln MKX being operated by a 76-year-old Lexington man was traveling north on S. Lakeshore Rd. just south of Galbraith Line Rd. when the vehicle left the roadway on a curve and struck several trees and an electrical pole before
overturning onto its side in the east ditch. Deputies believe the driver may have had a medical issue that caused his vehicle to leave the roadway. Police and Emergency Personnel attempted life-saving measures however the driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, and seatbelts were not worn during the crash.
The crash caused a large area of power outage in Lexington, Worth Twp. area. DTE arrived on the scene and quickly restored the power.
