The Eastern Thumb Area Legion took on the Genesee Generals at the Colleen J. Howe Arena in Sandusky last Tuesday. The Generals drew first blood, scoring the first goal of the game in the first period. The Legion shutout the Generals for the remainder of game. The Eastern Thumb Area Legion tied the game up in the second period and then took the lead moments later. The Legion scored three more goals in the third period to take the win 5-1. Caleb Lentner led all goal scorers in the game, scoring his fifth hat trick of the season with three goals. Marshall Ryan added a goal and an assist in the win. Gabe Vanderlip scored the remaining goal for the Legion. Chase Talaski and Matthew Cummings each finished with an assist. Lauren Eager tended goal for the Legion, saving twenty two of twenty three shots on goal, for a save percentage of 95.7%.
The Eastern Thumb Area Legion traveled to East Lansing last Friday to take on the Capital City Capitals at Suburban Ice. The Capitals took an early lead and held onto it, shutting out the Legion and take the win 8-0. Seth Hiles tended goal for the Legion in the loss, saving forty of forty eight shots on goal for a save percentage of 83.3%. The Legion are hoping to bounce back on Wednesday when they host Marysville at the Colleen J. Howe Arena in Sandusky.
