Marlette Wins Two

The Marlette Lady Red Raiders hosted the Ubly Lady Bearcats at home last Monday for a GTC East matchup. The Lady Red Raiders wasted no time in running up the score on the Lady Bearcats, outscoring Ubly 11-2 in the first quarter. Marlette kept Ubly in single digits for all four quarters and finished the game with double their score, 28-14. Marlette’s leading scorer was Olivia Findlay, who finished with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals. Gabby Martinez added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Ciatilyn Keys added 4 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. Dalaney Gage finished the game with two points.
The Marlette Lady Red Raiders hosted Harbor Beach in Marlette last Thursday for another GTC East matchup. The Lady Red Raiders kept Harbor Beach in check for the first three quarters, and ran up the score 35-21 by the end of the third quarter. Harbor Beach turned on the afterburners in the fourth and nearly deleted the deficit, but fell just short. Marlette took the win 47-40 and improved to 4-1 in the GTC East (10-4 overall).
Gabby Martinez led all scorers for Marlette, putting up 18 points while grabbing 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Ciatilyn Keys added 12 points, and 5 steals in the win. Olivia Findlay added 8 points and 2 steals. Hollie Hartwell and Dalaney Gage each added 3 points, with Gage added an additional 7 steals. Josie Hinojosa had two points in the win and Adi Ruggles finished with a free throw.
