Sandusky Boys Fall in District Final

The Sandusky Redskins faced off with Bad Axe in the District Final Saturday afternoon. Sandusky gave up a run in the first before going to work. Caleb Minard got on base with a double and Barry Lester hit a triple to bring home Minard and tie it up. Robbie Eschenburg hit a two RBI double to help Sandusky take a 3-1 lead to end the first inning. Both teams were held scoreless for the next two innings before Bad Axe tied things up in the fourth. Bad Axe rallied for four more runs in the sixth to take a 7-3 lead over the ‘Skins. Sandusky bounced back with two runs of their own to close the gap on the Hatchets. Bad Axe scored one more run in the seventh to bring the final to 8-5. Sandusky finish the season as League Champs, District runner up and a record of 19-9-1.
