Comments on returning players: This year I have two pitchers who will carry this team in the circle: Kara Giraud (junior) and Madisyn Guza (freshman). Sarah Barker, unfortunately, tore her ACL in basketball and she will not be pitching for the Lady Eagles this year. I have many experienced players this year between the seniors and the juniors. Both have played on varsity since their freshmen years, and they bring wisdom and maturity to the team. The freshman will have much to learn on varsity, but they bring good fundamentals to the team, and they will be a key to the Lady Eagles winning.
Comments about my team – strengths/weaknesses and goals for the season: Although Giraud and Guza will not have much experience, they bring a tenacity and confidence on the mound. Defensively, the Lady Eagles will be very strong. Our team prides themselves on good defense, and this is what helps the Lady Eagles have successful seasons. At the plate, the team needs to be aggressive.
Outlook of the league – Where I see my team finishing: Last year the Lady Eagles finished first in the NCTL, and, as in previous, years, the Lady Eagles have again set lofty goals. There are very competitive teams in the NCTL, and the Lady Eagles must be prepared and focused every game in order to be successful and to reach their goals.
