Sandusky Eliminated from Playoffs

It was a disappointing end to an otherwise excellent season for the Sandusky Redskins as they fell to the Cass City Redhawks last Friday in Cass City. The game was much closer than the 40-0 final score would indicate, as both teams were held scoreless by solid defensive efforts in the first quarter. The Redskins recovered a fumble but weren’t able to capitalize and soon the score was sitting at a grisly 16-0. Zach Franzel ran the ball back inside the Redhawk Red Zone, but time expired before the Redskins could ram it into the endzone. The Redhawks added another 3 scores in the second half, and though the Redskins hung tough they couldn’t get on the board. There is no shame in losing to a team as talented as this year’s Cass City squad and seniors should hold their heads high and be proud of their performances this season. The Redskins fielded a young team this year, and with 16 potential returning players for next year’s team it’s no secret that the Redskins will be a team to be reckoned with.
