Sandusky Demolishes Memphis

The Sandusky Wolves hosted the Memphis Yellowjackets Friday night in a triple header with the JV Boys and Varsity Girls squads. The Wolves ran the score up on the Yellowjackets, outscoring them 17-5 in the first and 18-8 in the second to hold a 35-13 lead at halftime. Memphis fought their way back slightly in the third quarter, outscoring the Wolves 7-6 but still trailing by twenty-one points. The Wolves secured the win in the fourth quarter with a final score of 55-31. Sandusky shared the love in Friday’s blowout win, with all but three members of the varsity squad netting at least one bucket. Jackson Kartanys led all scorers on the night with ten points, two rebounds, two steals and two assists. Braden Bender added nine points, two rebounds and two blocks. Kyle Guibord had six points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists. Nick Leen, Andrew Bolsby and Gabe Drabant each had four points in the win. Caleb Minard, Barry Lester, Carson Shampo, and Brenden Long each had three points in the win. Christian Shuart rounded out the scorer’s column with two points. The Wolves improved to 13-6 overall (10-1 GTC East) with the win but missed their chance at the league title after a tough loss in Brown City on Tuesday night.
