Sandusky Wins GTC-E Title; Go 12-0 in League

The Sandusky Lady Wolves traveled to Brown City last Tuesday for the deciding game in their GTC East title run. The Wolves started slow in the first half, relying heavily on their defense to keep Brown City in check. Sandusky led the game 8-3 after the first quarter and 18-7 after two. Sandusky started knocking down their shots in the third quarter and did not let up on the defensive end, completely shutting out the Lady Green Devils in the third. The Wolves ran the score up to 39-7 by the end of the third. Sandusky took their foot off the gas pedal in the fourth quarter, allowing Brown City to score eight while only adding four more points to their total. Sandusky took the win 43-15 and clinched the 2022-2023 GTC East title with the victory.
Brooke Jansen led all scorers with twelve points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Grace Guibord had eleven points and five rebounds in the win. Morgan Taege added eight points, two assists and two steals. Ally Jansen chipped in four points, five rebounds, six assists

and three steals. Helena Long had two points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Adalee Kaufman added four points and Maggy Keinath chipped in two points. The Wolves moved to a perfect 11-0 in the GTC and 18-3 overall with the win.
The Sandusky Lady Wolves hosted the Memphis Lady Yellowjackets for the final GTC matchup of the season last Friday in a triple header with the Boys Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. Sandusky jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the Yellowjackets 15-3 in the first quarter. Sandusky continued their dominance into the second quarter, holding Memphis to only two points while putting up an additional twelve points of their own. Sandusky kept the pressure up in the second half, allowing Memphis just one point through the final two quarters. Sandusky took the win 48-6, earning a perfect GTC East record for the season.

The Sandusky Lady Wolves finished their season with a perfect 12-0 record in the GTC East for the second consecutive season, cutting down the nets at their final home game of the regular season against Memphis.


Helena Long and Morgan Taege each scored eleven points in the blowout. Brooke Jansen added ten points. Grace Guibord chipped in eight points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Ally Jansen had two points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Adalee Kaufman had four points and Maggy Keinath chipped in two. The Wolves went 12-0 in the league for the second consecutive season and 19-3 overall. Sandusky now looks toward the postseason as they travel to Capac on Wednesday and Friday for District Semi-Finals and Finals.
