Redskin Review 9-9-15
At last, we’ve stepped into the school year! Of course, there are many hectic routines to come, but the first week of school is dedicated to becoming adjusted to new schedules. The summer hasn’t lacked exciting events to take part in; however, the beginning of school definitely will introduce several extra activities, shortly.
Furthermore, the first week of school allows the opportunity to alter schedules after a few days. The counseling office would appreciate if every student tried out their assigned schedules for at least the first day. If necessary, students may still request changes if their classes aren’t a good fit after the first half-day. Hence, don’t worry if the distributed classes aren’t exactly what you expected. It can be great to try something new, but finding classes that are enjoyable should be a main priority too!
In addition, this week the band will carry on their annual “Dine Out to Donate” Wednesdays. Starting on September 9th from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. a percentage of Burger King’s proceeds will benefit the band. Following, on September 16th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Bob & Jamie’s Grill will be making the same commitment. Next on September 23rd from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Benchwarmers will be supporting the SHS band. Finally, on September 30th at Dairy Queen from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. will offer the last chance to contribute to the band. Through each of these dates the band will be creating a unique and entertaining dining environment for everyone that comes out to support. So don’t miss your chance!
On the other hand, fall sports continue to strive as the seasons just started. Unfortunately, our last home football game was cancelled because of thunder. Even so, everyone had a great time waiting out the storm in the elementary school with laughter coming from the fan section, cheerleaders practicing, and the band playing as much as the weather allowed. Moreover, it was postponed until the following night, last Friday, when Sandusky once again obtained an excellent win. Lastly, with such an exciting beginning this sports season will definitely be one to remember!
