Another week has passed in Deckerville High School, this puts us halfway through the first marking period. Official progress reports came out last Friday. Another important academic stepping stone will present itself this week: the PSAT. The PSAT could be described as a pretest for the SAT. All juniors have to take the SAT in the spring, but the PSAT isn’t mandatory. The PSAT will take place Wednesday, October 14. Good luck to everyone taking this challenging test!
As for sports, Varsity football beat Madison Academy last Friday 74-26. JV football beat Mayville 34-8. Next Friday the boys play at Peck. Keep up the good work boys!
It was also a good week for volleyball. Varsity beat Mayville and C-PS last week. JV volleyball beat Mayville. This week the girls will play at Kingston on Tuesday and home against North Huron on Thursday.
The cross country team did well at their meet in Cass City last Saturday. Many of the kids set new personal records for themselves The team’s next meet is the big league meet. It is Monday, October 12th at Wagner Park.
