Eagle Beat 9-9-15 Edition

It’s been another good week for Deckerville sports! Football had another major victory against CPS Thursday night, leaving them with a 2-0 record. After a long, rainy game the boys came out with a final score of 54-0. The team is showing great talent. The previous week our boys beat Kingston 42-0. Their next game is home against Marion Friday, September 11th. Keep up the good work boys!
The cheerleaders were also at the game Thursday night. They kept cheering through all the rain and continue to improve.
Last Thursday, cross country had their first meet at Brown City. Everyone, including the new recruits, did very well and enjoyed the course. Kylee Colesa came out of the meet in first place with a time of 21.43.It’s good to see the team has a good start to the season and it will be interesting to see how much they can improve. Congrats to the cross country team on a great first meet!
Volleyball continues to practice hard. They played in the Bad Axe Tournament and their first league game is Thursday, September 10th at CPS.
Students start school September 8th. That also means the beginning of early mornings and busy schedules. Good luck to all students (and teachers) as the school year begins!
