Carsonville – Port Sanilac Schools has announced the Class of 2023’s Senior Scholars:
Chloe DeLong, daughter of David and Rachel DeLong, has been named a Senior Scholar of the Class of 2023.
Chloe has been a member of the volleyball team, along with cheerleading, softball and track & field events. Chloe is active in Thespian Troupe 2173, is the National Honor Society Secretary, President of the Student Council, Senior Class President, and Captain of the English Academics Team. Through the NHS, Chloe has had the opportunity to volunteer her time to helping others by tutoring, helping with local benefit dinners, and reading to the elementary students at CPS. During Chloe’s junior year she attended the Health Occupations class at the Sanilac Career Center where she competed in the HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) competition; she was a state finalist.
Chloe plans to gain her EMT license this summer and then to attend Northern Michigan University to study pre-med, in hopes of becoming a doctor.
Macy Milarch, daughter of Renzie and Tazia Milarch, has been named a Senior Scholar of the Class of 2023.
During Macy’s high school career she has been National Honor Society Vice-President & Treasurer, Student Council Treasurer, Class Treasurer, Thespian Troupe President, Marching and Concert Band Section Leader.
Macy has played volleyball for three years, her senior year she was Varsity Captain and 1st Team All League. Macy has also played four years of basketball, her senior year she was Varsity Captain, Honorable Mention All League, 1st Team All-League and Second Team All County. Through NHS, Macy has had the opportunity to volunteer her time reading to elementary students during March is Reading Month, and volunteering at the Sanilac County Humane Society.
Macy plans to attend Michigan State University with a Major in accounting.
Isabella Smith-Corso, daughter of Jeremy and Elizabeth Smith-Corso, has been named a Senior Scholar of the Class of 2023.
Isabella is Captain of Robotics team, Youth Advisory Council Senior Co-Chair, a member of the International Thespian Society, is the National Honor Society President, Drum Major of the CPS Marching Band, FFA Chapter Treasurer, with a gold rating at the State Astronomy Contest, Captain of the Quiz Bowl Team, qualifying for State Competition, and a member of the CPS Powerlifting Team. Isabella has had the opportunity to volunteer her time through NHS, FFA and YAC. Isabella is a National Merit Scholar.
Isabella plans to attend Michigan State University with a major in Plant Biology, and plans to pursue a career in Agricultural Research.
Julia Welsh, daughter of Lisa Welsh, has been named a Senior Scholar of the Class of 2023.
Julia has been involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, Volleyball (4 years), Softball (2 years), Bowling (4 years), Basketball (4 years) – being League Champions and being an NCTL Academic Scholar. Julia has had the opportunity to volunteer her time through NHS by reading to the elementary students during March is Reading Month, through Student Council and 4-H activities.
Julia plans to attend SVSU to pursue a degree in business and accounting.
