ISD Board prepares for 2022-23 School Year

The Sanilac ISD Board of Education met for its regular meeting on June 27.
The Consent Agenda was approved as presented.
A. Review and Consideration of Agenda: Approved the Agenda as presented.
B. Consideration of Minutes: Approved minutes from: Regular Meeting – May 16, 2022
C. Consideration of Monthly Bills: Approved payment of monthly bills as follows: General Education $1,557,264.82; Special Education $1,119,799.96; Career-Technical Preparation $774,394.38 – Total $3,451,459.16
D. Consideration of Monthly Budget Report: Approved.
E. The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the resignation of Amanda Williamson as the Early On Coordinator.
F. The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the retirement of Rebecca Cox as a Sanilac ISD bus driver since 1989.
G. The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the resignation of Brian Anklam as a ISD Board Member. Brian has been on the ISD Board since September 2018.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the Board Policy Revisions (Second Reading) of Board Policy 6110: Grant Funds, Policy 6114: Cost Principles – Spending Federal Funds and Policy 6325: Procurement – Federal Grants/Funds as presented.
Approval of Millage/Taxable Value Rates for the 2022-2023 School Year: The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the 2022 Tax Levy Rates of 2.5551 mills. The 2022-2023 millage rates are: General .2026; Special Education .7298; Career Technical Preparation 1.6227; Total 2.5551
Renee Jansen, Special Education Director, provided the Sanilac ISD Board of Education an update of the ISD’s K-8 Benchmarking and Goal Reporting Process.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved to hire Kyle Wagester as an additional Construction Instructor for the Sanilac Career Center.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the Maple Valley Sale/Lease Resolution as presented.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the 2021-2022 Revised Operational Budgets as presented – General Fund, Special Education, Career-Technical Education
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the 2022-2023 Proposed Operational Budgets as presented – General Fund, Special Education, Career-Technical Education, Fiduciary Funds, Student/School Activity Fund
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved Technology purchases as presented.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education granted permission to post for an Early On Service Provider/Service Coordinator.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education granted permission to post for an IST (Instructional Support Technician) for the Severe Cognitive Impaired Program.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education granted permission to post for an IST (Instructional Support Technician) for the Early Childhood Special Education Program pending grant approval.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education granted permission to post for a Bus Driver.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved the purchase of a Fire Alarm System for the SISD Maple Valley Center from the low bidder, National Time & Signal, in the amount of $44,838.
The Sanilac ISD Board of Education approved July 18, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. for the next regular and organizational meeting date.
Duane Lange, Superintendent, presented his Administrative Report – Gave a Maple Valley Update to the Board of Education; Updated Board of Education on the Summer Projects.
Renee Jansen, Special Education Director, presented her Administrative Report – Summer school is up and running.
The next regular/organizational meeting will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sanilac Career Center.
