Legion Fall to Thunder; Host Armed Forces Cup Saturday

The Thumb Area Legion hosted the Bay Area Thunder at the Colleen J Howe Arena in Sandusky for parent’s night. The Thunder scored the first goal of the game with roughly seven minutes remaining in the first period. The Legion answered less than a minute later with a goal of their own. Both teams scored once more before the end of the period to tie things up 2-2.
The Thunder took a 4-3 lead in the second period after outscoring the Legion by a goal. The Legion couldn’t get their offense going in the third period and gave up two more goals to the Thunder to take the loss 6-3. Caleb Lentner, Wyatt Ryan, and Tyler Lamm each netted a goal on the night. Seth Hiles tended goal and saved 29 of 35 shots for a save percentage of 82.9%. The Legion took to the ice after the game to skate with members of the public.
The Thumb Area Legion will host their final game of the regular season this Saturday in Sandusky when they host their annual Armed Forces Cup. The Legion are honoring former and current military service members with free admission and special recognition before the start of the game.
