Raiders Run Over Yellowjackets

The Marlette Red Raiders dominated the Memphis Yellowjackets, in a 50-28 victory last Wednesday night.
Led by a strong performance from Quintin Sartin, who scored 26 points and had 3 assists, the Marlette Varsity Boys came out of the gates firing, outscoring the Yellowjackets 17-14 in the first quarter.
The second quarter was a low-scoring affair, with the Marlette Varsity Boys scoring only nine points, but they were able to shut out the Yellowjackets to take a 26-14 lead into halftime.
The Marlette Varsity Boys picked up their offensive production in the third quarter, outscoring the Yellowjackets 16-1, effectively putting the game out of reach.
The Yellowjackets mounted a small comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring Marlette 13-8, but it was too little too late, as the Marlette Varsity Boys cruised to a 22-point victory.
In addition to Sartin’s impressive performance, Trey Lester had a solid game, scoring 7 points and grabbing a rebound. Aaron Bower also chipped in with 10 points and an assist.
With the win, Marlette improves to 6-8 (2-5 GTC East) on the season and will look to build on their momentum when they look to spoil Sandusky’s league title hopes on Friday.
