The Lady Eagles got two more wins under their belts last week, defeating both Mayville (51-7) and Peck (40-16).
Against Mayville, Deckerville led 13-0 after a quarter of play, and 33-2 at the half. In the third quarter, the Lady Eagles added another 20 points, and the defense only allowing 6 Mayville points. Deckerville scored 4 points in the fourth, and held Mayville scoreless for the second time.
Shelby Flanagan was top scorer for Deckerville with 25 points, 4 steals and 3 assists. Sophia Sanford had 8 points, 8 rebounds; Mya Garza 6 points, 4 steals; Cassandra Trigger 4 points, 7 rebounds; Libby Tank 3 points; and Jessie Heilig and Aleyah Keinath 2 points apiece.
On Thursday, the girls hosted Peck, and had little trouble with the Lady Pirates.
Deckerville scored 13 points in the first quarter, Peck 3, with the Eagles leading at the half, 25-8. The girls added 11 more points in the third quarter, holding Peck to 1. Deckerville was outscored 7-4 in the fourth, but had no problem controlling the win.
Two Lady Eagles were in double figures, Libby Tank with 11 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists and Shelby Flanagan with 10. Sophia Sanford contributed 7 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals; Johanna Kubacki 5 points; Mya Garza 4; Leah Trigger 2; and Cassandra Trigger, 1.
Coach Doug Kirkpatrick said, “ I am very happy with the way the girls stayed focus this week. We talked a lot about that this week, because it was their Winterfest and Parents Night.”
