Sandusky Lady Wolves 2-0

Sandusky held their home opener and first game as the Lady Wolves last Tuesday against the Lady Lakers. Sandusky wasted no time running the score up on the Lady Lakers, holding a 23-2 lead after the first and a 31-6 lead at halftime. The Lady Wolves scored another 27 points in the second half while holding the Lady Lakers to just 17 to take the win 58-23. Sandusky had 3 girls in double figures with Morgan Taege leading the charge with 17 points. Brooke Jansen had 12 points, 7 steals, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Helena Long added 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Ally Jansen added 5 points, 4 rebounds, 6 steals and 2 assists in the win. Grace Guibord had 6 points, 7 boards, and 5 assists. Ruby Trepkowski added 4 points and Adalee Kaufman notched 4 boards and 2 assists in the win.
The Lady Wolves punished the Lady Lakers on the defensive end, forcing more than a dozen turnovers in the victory. Sandusky moved to a 1-0 record after the win before facing off with Burton Bendle on Friday at home.
The Sandusky Lady Wolves played host to Burton Bendle on Friday night after giving Lakers the business on Tuesday’s home opener. The Lady Wolves wasted no time building their lead, scoring 21 points to Bendle’s three in the first quarter. Sandusky did not take their foot off the gas pedal in the second either, leading the contest 38-8 at halftime. Sandusky rallied for 27 points in the third quarter before running the clock out in the fourth, adding just four more points to their tally. The Lady Wolves finished with a score of 65-20 over Burton Bendle.
Sandusky’s defense kept Bendle’s score in the single digits in every quarter. Sandusky had 4 Lady Wolves in double digits with sharpshooter Morgan Taege leading the way with 17. Brooke Jansen added 13 points and Ally Jansen added 12. Grace Guibord had 10 points on the night. Helena Long chipped in 5 points, 6 boards and 4 assists and Adalee Kaufman had 6 points on the night.
The Sandusky Lady Wolves improved to a 2-0 record before hosting a talented Cass City Lady Red Hawks team at home on Tuesday. The Cass City results will be available in our next edition.
