Harold G. Lumm
CLIFFORD – Harold G. Lumm, 96, of Clifford, Michigan, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 at his home in Burlington Township. Mr. Lumm has lived in Clifford since 1962 and was previously from the Clarkston area.
He was born April 20, 1919 in Pontiac, Michigan, son to the late George and Cynthia (Going) Lumm.
He married Georgina F. Pyke, October 28, 1937, in Pontiac, Michigan. She preceded him in death on October 16, 2005.
Mr. Lumm served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the original Tenth Mountain Division from 1944 to 1945.
He was a long-time member and past commander of Marlette V.F.W. Post 4837.
Harold worked for General Motors Truck & Coach and Sealtest Dairy in Pontiac. He also farmed, worked at Marlette Community Hospital, and Vlastic Pickles in Imlay City, retiring in 1984.
Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting, vacationing with his family and playing cards.
He is survived by his children: Marjorie Garrison (daughter) of Davisburg, Gary Lumm (son) of Flint, Carole & John Rexford (daughter) of Carsonville, Jim & Peggy Lumm (son) of Davisburg, Michael Lumm (son) of Melbourne, FL, Kathleen Nichol (daughter) of Flint, Susan & James Grice (daughter) of Sandusky, George & Marcia Lumm (son) of Clifford; 22 grandchildren; 40 great- grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cynthia Lumm; wife, Georgina; sons, Harold and Kenneth; brothers, Leon and Thurman; sisters, Glady’s, Mildred and Ethel.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, in Marlette. Rev. Michael Hollenbeck officiated.
Burial was at the Lakeview Cemetery in Clarkston, on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
Memorials may be donated to the family.
Visitation was held Sunday and Monday, at Marsh Funeral Chapel, in Marlette.
