Casual / Cause raises $534.00 for Shop with a Hero
The Sanilac County Community Mental Health (CMH) employees, represented by Jim Johnson, CMH Executive Director, was pleased to present a check in the amount of $534.00 to the Shop with a Hero Program. Pictured with Mr. Johnson (left to right) are Sheriff Garry Biniecki and Amanda Wojcik of the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office. This group, along with DHS, provides a holiday shopping experience with kids from Sanilac County and our county first responders, or heroes.
The heroes help the kids shop for their immediate family and then volunteers wrap the gifts for the kids. This event usually happens at the beginning of December.
The money donated by CMH employees is obtained through their “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser. CMH employees are allowed to dress casually every other Friday in exchange for a $3.00 dollar donation to the “Casual for a Cause” fund, with the understanding that the money would be donated towards initiatives that benefit citizens of Sanilac County. CMH has an internal committee that helps to identify and select recipients quarterly.
