Comments on returning players: Lindsey Shutz, who will pitch the majority of innings for the Lady Eagles, is now considered a veteran pitcher. The core of the team is made-up of seniors: Emma Morningstar, Madisyn Guza, Kaylynn Shutz, Julia Flanagan, Liz Binder, and Amanda Kosal who many have four years of varsity experience, and they understand what it takes to win in this league. The rest of the team, who consists of juniors and sophomores, bring much to the field and at the bat. They are experienced and bring much athleticism to the team. I expect this core group to contribute to the success of our season this year.
Comments about my team – strengths/weaknesses and goals for the season: Shutz will should most of the pitching duties but Williams has been working hard to become a back-up pitcher this year. Defensively, the Lady Eagles will be very strong in some key areas due to experience. Our team prides themselves on good defense, and this is what helps the Lady Eagles have successful seasons. At the plate, the team needs to be aggressive, and they need to work on improving each game to be successful.
Outlook of the league – Where I see my team finishing: There are very competitive teams in the NCTL, and the Lady Eagles must be prepared and focused every game in order to be successful and to reach their lofty goal of winning a league championship each year.
