Eagles Fall to Peck in Semi

The Deckerville Eagles traveled to Caseville in district action last week, defeating North Huron by 16 points, 58-42.
The Eagles led 20-16 after the first quarter. Logan Martin led the Eagles with 8 points (two 3-pointers), with Hunter Garza adding 6, and Derek Osborne, Brady Sharbowski and Connor Palmer with 2 apiece. Deckerville added 11 in the second quarter, the Warriors, 10. Scoring for Deckerville, Derek Osborne with 4, Logan Martin a 3-pointer, and Brady Sharbowski and Hunter Garza, 2 apiece, for a 31-26 half-time lead.
Deckerville added 14 points in the third, North Huron, 8. Hunter Garza scored 8 of the points, Connor Palmer 4 and Logan Martin, 2. In the fourth, the Eagles scored 13 points, the Warriors, 8. Derek Osborne had 4 in the quarter, Logan Martin, Brady Sharbowski, Connor Palmer and Kris Kosal, 2 apiece and Hunter Garza, 1.
Three Eagles were in double figures, Hunter Garza with 17, Logan Martin 15, and Derek Osborne, 10.
The Eagles played Peck next, but their post-season came to an end when the Pirates defeated them, 56-41.
The Pirates led 14-12 after a quarter of play. Derek Osborne scored 6 for Deckerville, Connor Palmer, 3 and Gabe Kappen, a 3-pointer. The Pirates had a big second quarter, outscoring Deckerville 16-9. Gabe Kappen and Hunter Garza both had a 3-pointer, Connor Palmer, 2 and Logan Martin, 1. The Pirates led 30-21 at the half. The Deckerville boys outscored Peck 16-12 in the third quarter, with Logan Martin scoring 6, Hunter Garza 4, and Derek Osborne, Brady Sharbowski, and Connor Palmer each adding 2. In the fourth, Peck controlled the floor, scoring 14 points, holding Deckerville to 4, all on free throws – 2 by Hunter Garza, and one from Logan Martin and Connor Palmer.
Peck was led by Dalton Sempf with 22 points.
