Lady Eagles Fall to Kingston; Host Districts

The Lady Eagles suffered a tough loss against Kingston last week, 25-59.
The Lady Cardinals took an 8-point lead after the first quarter, holding Deckerville to only 2 points, 10-2. In the second quarter, Kingston added 12 points, with the Eagless adding 7, for a Kingston 22-9 half-time lead. The Cardinals added 20 points in the third, with its defense only allowing 5 points for Deckerville. In the fourth, Kingston added another 17 points, with Deckerville scoring 11.
Shelby Flanagan led the Eagles with 7 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds. Libby Tank added 5 points, had 2 assists and 6 rebounds. Axelle Mousse contributed 4 points and 1 assists, Sophia Sanford 3 points, 4 assists, Aleyah Keinath and Brooke Barker 2 apiece and Mya Garza, 1.
Kingston was led by Dalaney St. George with 19 points and Gracy Walker with 10.
The girls will be hosting districts this week, with Caseville vs. CPS and Ubly vs. Owendale-Gagetown scheduled for Tuesday night. Deckerville will take on the winner of the Caseville/CPS game and Kinde-North Huron will take on the winner of the Ubly/Owendale-Gagetown game (Wednesday) and Friday the finals at 7:00 p.m. Inclement weather will likely change the schedule.
