Lady Redskins hope for Tournament Success
Following a scrimmage with GTC-East co-champ Ubly earlier this week, Sandusky will play in districts Friday at Marlette, taking on the winner of Marlette vs. Laker at 12:00 noon. The championship game is slated for 2:00 p.m.
Sandusky enters tournament play batting .422 as a team with Krueger and Patterson leading the way with batting averages of .710 and .620 respectively. Sandusky has scored 238 runs and has a hefty .607 slugging percentage. They have connected on 69 doubles, 14 triples and 10 home runs.
Krueger has been ripping the cover off the ball all season long, tied for the team lead in hits with 49 and doubles with 17. She also has four triples and a pair of home runs while knocking in 36 runs and scoring 48.
Patterson, a Sandusky sophomore with a bright future ahead of her, is tied with Krueger with 49 hits, leads the team with seven home runs, has scored 32 runs and drove in another 52 runs to lead the team in that category.
Ross, who is hitting .500, has 44 hits to her credit and scored 42 times and has seven doubles and three triples to her credit.
Senior Keegan Nelson, the team’s outfield leader from her centerfield position, is bating .372, knocking in 26 runs and scoring 20 with 29 hits this season. Jenna Franzel, who has handled the Sandusky pitching staff from her catcher position, is hitting .409 with 33 runs scored and 27 hits.
