The returning players have played well every year I have coached. The Juniors have been on varsity since their 9th grade year and the seniors have improved each year. We are expecting big things out of every returning player. I expect Marcus and Alex to be our top pitchers, Sean will be one of the best infielders in the league, Will needs to play solid at first, and Chad has to improve on his already good performance behind the plate. I expect our hitting to improve out of all the returning players just because they each had a year to get stronger at the plate.
Lost to graduation: Ethan McKenney, Andrew Gillig, and Chorben Chisolm.
New to the Varsity team: Hunter Vaughn (12), Tommy Radzialowski (12), Logan Marshall (11), Nathan Reehl (11), Kyle Abbott (11), Micah Hager (11), Chris Mutch (11), Gavin Gage (9), and Cody Hayden (9).
I think we will be improved from last year but still have a lot of work to do to get where we want to be. All of the players on this team have the potential but it is just getting the most of that potential. I see us being competitive and definitely improving on last year’s record.
We will be competitive in league and as a coach I always expect to win league. The team must improve in order to do that but I do feel the program is moving in the right direction.
