Returning players: Andrew Storm – hurdler, sprinter, state qualifier 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles, 400 relay and 800 relay. League champ 110 hurdles, Meet of Champion’s qualifier – four events. Connor Thomas – sprinter (200, 400), league champion 200 meter, state qualifier 200 meter and Meet of Champions qualifier; Michael Morrison – springer State Qualifier 400 meter relay, 800 relay, Meet of Champions qualifier; Hunter McGinnis – sprinter State Qualifier 400 meter relay, 800 meter relay. These four guys made up last year’s 400 and 800 meter relay teams for us. They finished in All State in the 800 meter relay 2014, and currently hold our school record. Zach Cumper – hurdles; Isaac Dale – discus; Seth Ferguson – mid distance; Jesse Fischer – pole vault; Brett Knox – sprinter; Jared Lentz – high jump; Charles McClatchie – throws; Ben Nied – throws; Eric Poth – distance; Austin Potter – throws; Sam Sartin – mid distance; Rich Schell – throws; Ryan Zawodny – sprints; Jake Zuhlke – mid distance and pole vault.
Lost to graduation: Ian Reagin – All Conference, All County, and All State Discus thrower, also a strong sprinter/hurdler; Eli Poth – All Conference and State qualifier distance, currently member of SVSU track and field/cross country teams.
Top new prospects: Connor Bice – sprinter/mid-distance runner; Darren Parke – throws; Ethan Stover – sprinter; Mark Hart – sprinter/mid distance.
We have a large team again this year with many returning letter winners. They are working very hard so far and have set high goals for this season. If we can peak at the right time we should be highly competitive this year. We would like to compete for another league and regional title in May.
