Robert R. Abend

Robert R. Abend, age 59, of Deckerville, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 in his home with his family at his side.
He was born July 11, 1955 in Sandusky, the son of Ralph and Eleanora (Cass) Abend.
He married Miss. Irene C. Beauchamp on October 26, 1974 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Robert was a 1973 graduate of Deckerville Community High School. He worked as a sales rep., for Rhodes Retail of California setting up O’Reilly Auto Parts Stores, Lowes, Home Depot, and JoAnn Fabrics stores. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially the grandchildren, hunting, camping, and riding his scooter with his dog.
Robert is survived by his wife, Irene of Deckerville; one daughter, Nancy Abend of Nashville, TN; three sons, John Pierrie (Lori) Abend of PA, Steven (Shena) Abend of Deckerville, and Andrew Abend of Carsonville; two grandchildren, John Pierrie Jr., and Angel; two sisters, Eleanor Ann Lewis of Traverse City, and Barbara Eberts of Big Rapids; his parents, Ralph and Eleanora Abend of Deckerville; and three aunts and one uncle, Harvey and Lois Abend, Margaret Evans, and Jane Doan.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Robert R. Abend will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Pastors Robert and Peggy Jiggens will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday in the Apsey Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to Marlette Hospice or Port Huron McLaren Hospital.
