Area Blanketed in Haze from Canadian Wildfires

Air quality has been poor for the past week or so thanks to the wildfires in Canada.
The haze was so thick on Tuesday and Wednesday of this past week that it actually affected daytime visibility, resembling something closer to fog than a plume of smoke by the time it reached our shores.
The National Weather Service issued an air quality alert for the local area that was originally only supposed to last until Friday morning at 12:00 a.m. but was eventually extended to Sunday, July 3rd at midnight. During poor air quality events it is important to limit the exposure of children and animals, as well as anyone with a respiratory condition.
