New Sandusky Fireworks Organization Seeks Public Assistance
The recently formed Sandusky Fireworks Organization (SFO) has only one mission in mind. Expand, enhance, and improve, one or more annual Sandusky fireworks shows each year.
The committee, with the help of a few select inaugural donors, was able to finance and produce the 2015 Thumb Festival Fireworks Show.
The group’s executive board is comprised of President-Mike Stoliker, Treasurer-Jackie Ball, Secretary-William R. Dixon, and members Keith Costine, Lisa Kenny, Connie Woodward, Monica Brown, and Toni and Jeff Tank.
The group plans to double the fireworks show budget in 2016, with a planned expenditure of $10,000 or more as part of the Michigan Thumb Festival.
This is where the public can help. The organization is seeking returnable can and bottle donations. Look for the white and red can/bottle donation drums at locations in and around Sandusky. Donors with a large number of can/bottles can drop them off behind the former Ball Equipment located at 294 S. Elk St., Sandusky.
Pick-up of large returnable donations can be arranged by calling 810-648-5282.
The group is certified as a 501c3 non-profit organization. Donations are fully tax deductible and 100% off all money raised by the group goes directly to the fireworks show(s).
The SFO will also hold a glow bracelet street sale in cooperation with the Sandusky Chamber of Commerce on Friday, October 30th, from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., at the four corners.
