Ford qualifies for Nationals, attempts Marathon

Riley Ford competed in a half marathon in Warner Robins, Georgia last Saturday to attempt to qualify for Nationals in Track and Field.
For the marathon in Track and Field, one must run under 1 hour 31 minutes in a chip timed half marathon to qualify and since half marathons are not part of the normal track meet, one must be sought out.
Ford beat the qualifying time by nearly five minutes, coming in at 1:26.52, becoming the first runner in Dalton State history to qualify for Nationals in track. This will be Ford’s first attempt at a marathon.
Riley was a 2020 graduate from Marlette High School, running both track and cross country.
She attends college at Dalton State in Georgia.
She is the daughter of Jeff and Amy Ford.
