Jeff’s Marketplace Opens

Sandusky once again has a local grocery store, as Jeff’s Marketplace opened at 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday.
We caught up with owner Jeff Durecka briefly on Tuesday morning as he and an entire army of vendors and staff were sprinting toward the opening bell.
We were treated to an advance tour of the completely renovated store and have found many improvements, sure to be a hit with patrons.
The check-out lanes have been moved to the front of the store and almost all of the store is visible upon entry.
The brand new deli, kitchen and meat counter are wide open and visible to customers.
The store will carry Spartan brands as well as national brands.
Since Jeff is a butcher by trade, you can expect a great meat counter too.
A memorial photo of Jeff’s father hangs just inside the store entrance as a tribute to his life and legacy. The senior Durecka passed away unexpectedly just days after the he purchased the store from the Rich family.
Jeff has the good fortune of being joined in the business by daughter, Chelsea, who was busy commissioning new equipment in the bakery/deli department.
