Raiders Shine at State
Marlette girls track coach Cathy Storm said of the state meet, “The girls did an awesome job at State Finals. Lily Parker finished 13th in the discus and 12th in the shot put. The 400m relay team ran a great time and finished 18th. Olivia Findlay earned all state honors finishing 2nd in the high jump 5-3 and 5th 16-1, in long jump.
At the Thumb Meet of Champs last Tuesday, Olivia Findlay -1st High Jump, 2nd Long Jump; Emma Woods – 6th Long Jump PR; Lily Parker – 4th Shot Put, 7th Discus; Patricia McIntee – 8th 100m; 400m Relay PR 7th place – Woods, Findlay, Lemanski, McIntee.
Marlette boys coach, Coach Melissa Findlay said, “Tyler Izydorek has worked extremely hard improving his pole vault performance steadily throughout the 2022 track season. He tied his personal best performance at the state finals on Saturday, by jumping 12’ at the season’s biggest meet. This vault performance can be attributed to his extra work he has put in during weekends all season long. Every weekend throughout the season, you could find Tyler vaulting at the marlette track. There is nothing more satisfying to a coach, when an athlete like this is rewarded for his extra work.” He place 8th, giving him All State recognition.
