Sheriff’s Department has Busy
Holiday Weekend

The Sheriff’s Office, had a somewhat busy holiday weekend working through the frigid cold weather and near blizzard like conditions. The Sheriff’s Office Uniform Services Division handled 65 complaints, including accidents and vehicles in the ditches.
One personal injury traffic crash was reported on Friday, December 23, at 9:55 a.m., on Peck Road, near Lawndale Road in Buel Township. This was a single vehicle accident and the driver was transported to McKenzie Hospital by Croswell EMS to be checked out for minor injuries. Deputies were also assisted on scene by Elk Township Fire & Rescue.
On Sunday, December 25, Deputies assisted the Deckerville Police Department with a missing person’s complaint involving a village resident. Later on the same date deputies located a vehicle matching the description of the victims in a field in Custer Township. Upon making contact at the vehicle, Marvin Kritzman, 87, of Deckerville was found, deceased. The incident is believed to be weather related.
