During their regular meeting on Monday, August 3, the Sandusky City Council approved changes to the city’s weed ordinance.
Among the changes, are the increasing of grass height from 6 inches to 8 inches.
The second change to the ordinance is the tagging of residences that violate the ordinance. Rather than getting a second notice in the mail from the city clerk and having 7 days to mow their lawn, residents’ properties will be tagged with a notification stating they are in violation. They will then have a minimum of 72 hours to mow their lawn before the city takes action at the resident’s cost. A digital picture of the notice on the door will be taken to prove that the notification was served.
