Gween Moore Johnson

DECKERVILLE – A wonderful life’s journey ended on March 11, 2015 for Gween Moore Johnson, 93, born to C. Barclay and Grace Hartshorn Moore on September 1, 1921.
On August 1, 1944, she married William J. “Bill” Johnson.  For thirty-two years they worked together caring for dairy cattle.
Gween was involved in 4-H volunteering to help children.  She was a leader in the Lakeside 4-H Club for 53 years.
Gween is survived by her children, Larry (Mary) Johnson and Mary Jane Johnson; grandchildren, Amber Johnson and Brad (Kristie) Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Trenten and Alyssa Johnson. She is also survived by her sister, Nira (Maurice) Adair; and nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special great-niece, Mikki Rich.
Gween was preceded in death by her husband, William J “Bill” Johnson; her father and mother; as well as a brother, Calvin J. Moore.
After the passing of her husband, Gween managed the Senior Meal Site in Deckerville for 15 wonderful years.  She also enjoyed researching the 15 generations of the Bisbee-Hartshorn-Moore- Johnson family.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at the Forester Township Cemetery on May 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to family discretionary fund.
