Brown City announces Val and Sal

Salutatorian

Brown City School is proud to announce the 2018 valedictorian, Jacob Martus, and 2018 salutatorian, Raymond Shavers.
Jacob is the son of Jim and Kara Martus. He has attended the prestigious Brown City Honors’ Banquet every year throughout his high school career. Over the past two years, Jacob has taken four AP courses, as well as five dual-enrollment courses through SC4. Jacob will be graduating with a GOPA above 4.0, as well as an SAT score of 1430. He is two-year member of Brown City High School’s Math Academic Games and the National Honor Society. Jacob has also been very involved athletically, he has participated on the varsity football team for three years, wrestled for four years, and he is going on his fourth year of track.
In the fall, Jacob plans to attend the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, to pursue a degree in engineering.
Raymond is the son of Raymond and Cindi Shavers. He is a five-year attendee of the prestigious Brown City Honors’ Banquet. Over the past two years, Raymond has taken three AP courses, as well as five dual-enrollment courses through SC4. He is a four-year member of Brown City High School’s Science Academic Games and Quiz Bowl teams, being named co-captain on each this past year. Raymond has also been very involved athletically, he has played football all four years, varsity for two, and he has played varsity baseball for the last two years, as well.
In the fall, Raymond plans to attend the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, to pursue a degree in Neuroscience. After graduating college, Raymond plans to pursue a graduate degree in Neuroscience, as well.
