Lasecki American Legion Teacher of the Year
Sandusky Community Schools is proud to announce that high school teacher George Lasecki has been awarded the American Legion Teacher of the Year. Five teachers were selected throughout the state for this honor. The criterion for winning the award was based on a teacher’s competence, community involvement, and patriotism/Americanism.
Mr. Lasecki has been instrumental in numerous community service projects with students, from the Sandusky Park Project in 2001, Food4Friends Food Drives, the Diamond Trail Fitness Project, Flags of Remembrance, and the Moving Wall, to his services and projects within the school district.
He will receive a $500 grant to be used for an educational project of his choice for the school and a recognition plaque that will be awarded to him at the American Legion State Convention in Kalamazoo in June.
The Sandusky Board of Education recognized Mr. Lasecki for his achievement at the March meeting.
