Redskin Review 8-26-15
The 4H Fair is once again in our midst; of course, this is exciting for Sandusky’s artists, cooks and farmers of all ages, but it also signifies the oncoming school year to students. Generally, because the fair is usually the last week in August, the fair represents a finale to months of summer fun. Furthermore, I’m sure many deserving ribbons will be won and many memories will be formed throughout this exciting week.
On the other hand, Sandusky’s open house will be upon us in no time. Sandusky scheduled on hosting this year’s high school open house on Tuesday, September 1, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. This is an excellent time to become acquainted with the approaching school year before it begins on September 8. Through this hour students will have the opportunity to obtain their schedules, find their locker, and get any other questions answered. Of course, aside from preparation for school, students can finally catch up with friends they missed through the busy summer.
For the majority of high school students this event seems quite routine, but that’s definitely not the case for seventh graders entering high school. Therefore, families of younger classmen are welcome to come as early as 4:15 p.m., to give plenty of time to become accustomed to the entire idea of going to high school and once again being at the bottom of the totem pole. After this session, students should feel much more comfortable, but if there’s still apprehension, it’s sure to be resolved after the first day. High school can seem intimidating at first glance, but SHS is full of many great students that will ensure everyone feels welcome and finds somewhere they share interests with. Moreover, high school can be an exciting adventure for everyone if you keep yourself involved!
