Sandusky Salutes Citizens of the Year; Golden Hammer Businesses

SANDUSKY- The Sandusky Area Chamber of Commerce honored Brett Lester as the 2014 Citizen of the Year at a banquet held in his honor on Saturday night.
More than 100 attendees turned out to salute Lester’s commitment to the community at Woodland Hills Golf Club.
Lester was joined by three other major citizen award recipients Mark Ruggles-Civic Samaritan of the Year, Tom Burkle-Numatics, Corporate Citizen of the Year, Dave Coleman-Countryside Free Methodist Church, Volunteer of the Year.
Several Golden Hammer Awards were also presented to local business people for a significant brick & mortar investment into the Sandusky area business community.
Golden Hammer Awards were presented to Andrea Palmer-Class Act Boutique, Mike Stoliker-Stoliker’s Custom Designs, Ron & Ann Hazenbusch-Elk Street Brewery & Tap Room, Chuck & Ann Roberts and Leon & Amy Roggenbuck-Thumb Veterinary Services, Jake Smith-Farmers Insurance, Scott Long- The Traveler, Mark Heberling-Mark’s Barber Shop, Monica Brown and Connie Woodward-Accents Hair Studio and William R. Dixon-Tribune Recorder Leader.
All of the civic leaders honored on the evening were given the “red carpet” treatment from the “star walk of fame” at the entry to VIP All Access Passes, to artfully crafted introductions, the Chamber of Commerce showed much appreciation and respect for their honorees.
Sandusky City Police Chief Brett Lester delivered the keynote address entitled, “People are not Interruptions.”
