CPS Boys Win Peck Tri-Meet; Girls Take Second
The Carsonville-Port Sanilac varsity boys and girls track teams traveled to Peck last Tuesday for a tri-meet with Peck and Caseville. The boys emerged victorious, earning thirteen firsts and five second place finishes. Evan Grigg took first in the 100 meter, as well as the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relays. Randy Hartel, Nikolaus Lewis and Mikey Jasso also earned golds alongside Grigg in the relays, with Brendan Porter taking Nikolaus Lewis’s place in the 4×400. Mikey Jasso earned first in the 200 meter dash, and Jeremy Hartel and Tylar Bartley took second and third. Brendan Porter took second in the 400 meter dash. Grayson and Trevor Klaty took first and second respectively in the 800 meter run. Trevor Klaty finished first in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs as well. Randy Hartel took first in the 110 m hurdles. Logan Henderson took first in the shotput with a distance of 28 feet 11 inches and first in the discus with a distance of 91 feet 9 inches. Logan Henderson also cleared the highest bar in the high jump, with a height of 5 feet even.
The Lady Tigers had several golds but came up short of the win, falling to Caseville. Layla Blythe-Davis took first in the 100 meter dash and second in the 200 meter. Lola Fortushniak took first in the 800 meters. The CPS 4x100m relay team took first but the members were not named in the results. Addyson Ganley took second in the shot put with a distance of 26 feet 4.5 inches.
