CPS Earns First Win of the Season for Homecoming
The Carsonville Port-Sanilac Tigers had more than just their Homecoming to celebrate on a rainy Friday night, as they took down Caseville 24-16 to earn their first win of the season. Colton Sharpe was one for four in the passing game, completing his sole pass to Tylar Bartley for 32 yards. Sharpe also was the lead rusher on the night, picking up 122 yards and a touchdown on fourteen carries. Alex Scheuneman had 23 carries for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Rosser had eight carries for 59 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Bartley led the defense with 10 tackles, a deflected pass, two interceptions, two tackles for loss and a sack. Johnson had ten tackles, three for a loss, and forced one fumble. Seth Smith had five tackles including one tackle for yardage lost. Alex Scheuneman had six tackles and a deflected pass. Alex Simmons had two tackles and a sack. Owen Poirier had two tackles, Keegan Emerick one tackle, Lucas Childers three tackles and Colton Sharpe had four tackles and a deflected pass.
The Tigers improved to 1-6 (1-5 NCTL Stripes) with the win over Caseville and will look to keep the momentum going when they face off against the Peck Pirates this Friday.
